June 20, 2018 – Team Envy has released its European CS:GO roster, including players Vincent “Happy” Schopenhauer, Adil “ScreaM” Benrliton, Cédric “RpK” Guipouy, Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey, Ali “hAdji” Haïnouss and Alexander “xms” Forté. The Team Envy CS:GO Academy team was also released. The organization plans to continue to work with CS:GO developer Valve and event organizers and is actively focused on building a competitive Counter-Strike presence for Team Envy in North America.
Envy entered the Counter-Strike scene in 2015 and the European roster quickly became one of the most dominant teams in the world, taking home 10 international titles including the Valve Major at DreamHack Cluj-Napoca. In 2018 competitions, the team had struggled to achieve the same levels of success.
“We have enjoyed working with each and every player, coach and manager involved with the Envy CS:GO and Academy teams in Europe these last four years. A piece of our heart will always be with the players and fans in France that helped us grow the popularity of competitive Counter-Strike across the globe. I am extremely proud of our teams’ accomplishments and wish our players nothing but success as they find homes with other CS:GO organizations. Team Envy would not be what it is today without our history in Counter-Strike, and I look forward to sharing our plans in CS:GO with the fans in the future,” said Mike Rufail, owner and CEO at Envy Gaming.
North America based esports company Envy Gaming, Inc., which operates the Team Envy brand across seven competitive gaming titles and owns the Dallas Fuel franchise in the Overwatch League, is one of the largest and most-winning esports groups in the world.
